The Popular Parliamentary Group has presented in Congress a non-law proposal " to urge the Government of Spain to approve an economic liquidity plan for wild livestock for debate in the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries and Food"
The coronavirus pandemic, the state of alarm and the consequent suspension of the bullfighting season have led Campo Bravo to a dramatic situation, reported by EL MUNDO in the report about the Campo Bravo Holocaust in the slaughterhouse: 12,000 bulls without exit.
The popular ones expose that "in Spain there are 895 cattle ranches of wild cattle in farms distributed in the provinces. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, during 2019 the census of animals registered in the main section of the Genealogical Book of the Bovine Breed of Lidia within all the Autonomous Communities amounted to a total of 203,056 animals. And according to data from the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Government of Spain, during 2019 1,511 major bullfighting shows and more than 17,698 popular bullfighting festivals were held in our country " .
These data represent 80% of income for ranchers. The non-law proposal comes a day after the Ministry of Culture ignored its aid plan for the bullfighting sector.
