All that for this ? Finally, confinement, which is approaching two months in France, will not have made the French and French gain that much. According to an Ifop survey for Darwin nutrition, they gained an average of 2.5 kg. Far from the fears expressed, here and there, on social networks at the start of confinement. Time to cook, and possibly "comfort food," combined with free-fall physical activity were supposed to make everyone fat, in a surge of grossophobic jokes and remarks.

2.5 kg, what does that mean? Well that on average there is no need to redo your wardrobe. Such weight gain does not correspond to one more size. Between two sizes there are about 5 kg. “Weight gain is not a problem in itself, and was predictable in a context of stress and limited energy expenditure. More time at home means more time preparing meals, but also more opportunities to snack, ”explains Quentin Molinié of Darwin Nutrition in Le Parisien .

Tensions

We learn in this survey that 42% of French men and women interviewed have, more than before, spent time at the aperitif. 29% lost weight during confinement while 57% gained weight.

Finally, no surprise: the inequalities in heterosexual couples increased during confinement. Only 21% of men say they have done more cooking before. Above all, 60% of women cook with their partner, compared to 58% previously. In short, 42% of these couples recognize tensions on this subject.
