Chen Dong, 36, is from Santai County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. Chen Dong has been a singing fan since he was a child. In 2005, he used to sing in bars around Jiangnan. In the second half of 2009, Chen Dong returned to his hometown, and by chance, he went to a bar in Mianyang to sing.

While singing in the bar, Chen Dong found the host very humorous and funny, attracting many customers. He suddenly became interested in the host. "I have a good appearance, and I have the height to meet the requirements. I should have the conditions to be a moderator." So, while Dong Dong was singing, he began to look for videos to learn the hosting skills in weddings and birthday parties.
Initially, Chen Dong's presidency was not smooth. Since he had never been in contact with this industry before, Chen Dong often "screwed up" weddings. He will suddenly forget the names of the groom and the bride on the wedding host, will remember the important wedding link, and even miss the wedding time because of traffic jams. "My accent is also a problem. I can't distinguish the flat tongue sound, which greatly affects my host and also gives an unprofessional impression."
In order to get acquainted with the industry as soon as possible, Chen Dong gets up at 6 a.m. every morning and jogs the wedding process and lines while running. In 2012, Chen Dong felt that his hosting ability and skills had improved to a certain extent, and his network was wider, so he began to work as a host in Mianyang City and surrounding districts and counties. With his own efforts, Chen Dong will not only preside over weddings and birthday feasts, but also preside over business openings, ordering meetings, commercial performances, and evening parties. Chen Dong's hosting fee has also changed from the initial 200 yuan to now about 2,000 yuan.

Seeking survival under adversity, he became a freight driver
"If the epidemic is not lifted, gathering activities will be restricted. If you don't go to work for more than a month, you won't have any income at home. You have to find a way to save yourself." Chen Dong has two sons, one 9 years old and one 5 years old. And Chen Dong's wife took the children full-time at home. In March, Chen Dong started carpentry. After doing more than 10 days, he found that the income of carpentry is a bit low. At this time, Chen Dong met a friend Yang Fei who ran freight. Under Yang Fei's suggestion, Chen Dong decided to run freight. With a C1 driver's license, he can drive a green-label minivan. Chen Dong didn't hesitate and immediately bought a light-duty van for more than 60,000 yuan, ready to pull the cargo.
"There is no problem with the supply of goods. When the host met some bosses, they contacted them and asked them to help find the goods. I mainly ran around Mianyang and Chongqing." Chen Dong said that from mid-March to now, he opened light The truck earned more than 8,000 yuan for more than a month.

For Chen Dong, who had just entered the freight industry, he was extremely unfamiliar with this industry. When he first started running freight, Chen Dong was suffering.
"A few days after I started running freight, I only brought water in the car, but I often ran down for a few hours, and I was often hungry." Later, Chen Dong summed up his experience, before leaving the car every day He will always prepare some food and water, and also specially brought quilts and pillows, and put them in the back seat. When he is tired, he can take a good rest. "Although the timing of three meals a day is uncertain, whenever I can have dinner with the sunset in the service area, I feel that a rough guy is a very romantic thing!"

"Although the work has changed a lot, and the income has changed from 10,000 to 20,000 yuan per month to about 8,000 yuan now, it is worth it. It is better than idle at home." Chen Dong said with a smile. The reason why he quickly adapted to the change is mainly due to his good mentality. "Either the host or the freight driver does not exist. In fact, driving a truck can pull goods, make money, support the family, and run around. This is also a tourist!"
When the epidemic is over, he will continue to be the host
"When running freight, you must pay attention to safety, not only for yourself, but also for others." Whenever running freight, Chen Dong will go around the car for a week, check the rearview mirror, tires, fuel tank, etc., and confirm that the car is not abnormal. Boarding, weighing, transportation, unloading, return trip, weighing, one-time transportation is successfully completed.

Mr. Li, the principal of Chongqing Weixuan Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., initially questioned whether Chen Dong, who was originally the host, could complete the freight work. But when he saw that the young guy had arrived safely and on time for every shipment, he changed his view and deeply admired Chen Dong, and the two even became good friends.
Usually, Mr. Li's company is willing to give Chen Dong some dangerous and dangerous freight work. "Running freight is the same as being a presenter. Both need to be punctual, serious, and responsible." For Chen Dong, who first entered the freight industry, the biggest difficulty was finding the source of transportation. As a novice in the freight industry, when he went out to run a freight trip, Chen Dong met an old freight driver in the service area. During the chat between the two, Chen Dong asked the old freight driver how to tie the goods with a rope. The enthusiastic old driver not only taught him on the spot, but also suggested that he film the steps of tying the goods with his mobile phone and learn slowly after returning home.
Now, the epidemic is slowly being brought under control. In Chen Dong's view, as long as the epidemic is lifted, there will be a large number of weddings and birthday parties, and his presidency will be busy again.
