Steel parts about 2 kilometers fall from the bridge near JR Shimbashi station at 0:20 on May 6th.

On the 5th, it was found that a steel part weighing more than 2 kilograms from a JR overpass near Shimbashi station is falling on the road below. JR East says that there are no contacts such as injuries.

According to JR East, it was found that steel parts had fallen on the road from the overpass that crossed Sotobori Dori just north of JR Shimbashi Station at 11:00 am on the 5th.

The parts are L-shaped, called "angles" that secure the steel plates that cover the girders between the girders. The size is 28 cm in width, 7.5 cm in depth and 7.5 cm in height, and approximately 2.4 in weight. There was a kilo.

Sotobori-dori is a high-traffic road in Tokyo, but JR East has no contact with people such as injured people or cars hitherto.

The parts were attached around 1965 and were inspected visually every two years, and it was said that there was no abnormality in the inspection last August.

JR East is investigating the cause and commenting, "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone involved" under the policy of conducting inspections on similar bridges.
