Part of the mayors of France accuses the state of discarding them to succeed deconfinement in schools. Once again, as he had done to get out of the yellow vests crisis, Emmanuel Macron turned to the mayors. But this time, the operation is more risky

The mayors are very upset against the executive. They accuse him in particular of exposing them to the front line in the face of the coronavirus. They are the ones who will be concretely the first actors of deconfinement. But in the current state of the law, nothing protects them from possible criminal proceedings in the event of contamination in schools and public buildings.

Emmanuel Macron only sees noon at his door: a method that has already worked during the yellow vests crisis ... Praying the mayors, pampering them gives them importance, we remember the presidential exercise which lasted for hours and hours during the great debate. So it worked like all politicians, Emmanuel Macron is convinced that it will still work.

However, some of his advisers are, however, skeptical. They recommend that the head of state be more offensive and confront him with some of their contradictions. Mayors who are always demanding more autonomy, but who scold when the state leaves their hands. The current crisis has nothing to do with the revolt of roundabouts, there, we are in a tough tug of war between the centralizing state and local communities. At the Élysée, it is estimated that Emmanuel Macron is not in the same situation as during the Great Debate.

At Poissy, it will be a risky exercise for the president. But even if he claims to want to reinvent himself, Emmanuel Macron has no intention of changing.
