Hong Kong will also face a very severe economic crisis.
Third, the political crisis. The turmoil in the amendments that lasted for more than half a year has broken Hong Kong's society. The thugs have repeatedly blatantly insulted the country and the nation. Some members of the opposition abused their power in the Legislative Council and maliciously "rab" ed. What is more worrying is that Hong Kong has been involved in the battlefield of international games. External forces have used the name of democracy and human rights to encourage violent crimes in an attempt to undermine the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and even the peaceful development of China. The most irritating thing is that individual opposition figures have asked the United States to intervene in Hong Kong affairs and China ’s internal affairs and sanction Hong Kong. Dong Jianhua pointed out that today Hong Kong needs more powerful measures from government departments than ever before, more professionals need to contribute wisdom, and every citizen needs one mind to break through the difficulties. Hong Kong has experienced various challenges such as wars, storms, and refugee flows, and we can always ride through safely every time. Hong Kong people are dedicated, trustworthy, diligent, self-improving, advocating the rule of law, etc. are the advantages of Hong Kong in overcoming difficulties, but the most rare thing is that after the return in 1997, Hong Kong has a unique "one country, two systems".
"'One country, two systems' is Hong Kong's biggest advantage, the mainland of China is Hong Kong's strongest backing, and national reform and opening up is our biggest development stage." Dong Jianhua said that with the "Belt and Road" initiative and the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, I am confident that Hong Kong will usher in unparalleled development opportunities.
Dong Jianhua also said that Hong Kong ’s final adjudication rights and currency issuance rights are all protected by Hong Kong ’s Basic Law. Hong Kong people currently enjoy various freedoms of assembly, speech, press, publication, and association. Which one is not as good as before? of course not. In fact, the central government's original intention to stick to "one country, two systems" has never changed. Different polls show that the vast majority of Hong Kong citizens, including people with different political spectrums, support "one country, two systems." We must cherish "one country, two systems".
