INTERVIEW

Bilal Hassani has just released a new single, Fais le vide , available since April 23. If the album from which this title is extracted should not arrive before the end of the year, the interpreter of Roi wanted to give his fans a breath of fresh air and joie de vivre during this period of confinement. "I decided to avoid waiting because I saw that my fans wanted a new song. And I did not want, as we are all confined, that we stop enjoying good music", explained the 20-year-old singer on Tuesday, at the microphone of Philippe Vandel, in Culture Media on Europe 1.

The choice fell on this title, because the lyrics present an unexpected echo to confinement. "During this stressful period, I wanted to make a liberating hymn," says Bilal Hassani. "It is a call to empty, to be less anxious, to let go and to let go," he explains.

"In one year, I took ten years in the face"

As for the rest of the album, it promises, by the singer's own admission, more serious than his previous achievements. "I matured, grew up. In terms of the texts, we went further in what I wanted to tell," he says. "In one year, I took ten years in the face and I think it feels. This is the album where I really become an adult."
