It was customary for the fasting people in Ramadan to decorate their tables with many drinks to extinguish their thirst with the announcement of the Maghrib call to prayer, but many of these drinks may be unhealthy and have adverse effects.

Sweetened fruit juices, of all kinds, are among the drinks that doctors do not recommend during the month of Ramadan, because they contain a high content of sugar as well as calories.

Many fasting people make mistakes in breaking their fast on even juices of sweetened fruits, or even a lot of them, which leads to a sudden increase in blood sugar, and then falling rapidly, and thus this temporary "recovery" leads to health damages.

Hence, doctors advise when breakfast on fruit juice, to be fresh and not sweetened, and to add an amount of water to it, and that a person drink a small amount of it in a way that quench thirst, so that it does not affect the work of the internal organs of the body.

Nutrition experts also advise to stay away from soft drinks as much as possible in Ramadan, as they contain more sugar than in fresh juices, and it is not useful for those who are trying to lose weight in Ramadan.

While many consider that ready-made powder juices are lighter and better than heavy sweetened juices, nutritionists indicate that they are equally harmful in sweetened juices, as they contain large amounts of sugar, which the body does not need.

And many studies confirm that drinking sweetened juices increases the chances of developing diabetes, and that this causes obesity, which is closely related to a number of cardiovascular diseases.
