In an article in Dagens Arena, seven dance managers argue that the Cultural Committee in the City of Stockholm should increase crisis support and ensure that it includes individual artists.

Instead of adding new money, the board redistributed SEK 20 million from the cultural support to a crisis fund, which has already received criticism. The opposition's (S, V, Fi) proposal for a crisis fund with 35 new millions was voted down.

Even the dance managers now mean that it is pulling away the carpet for individual dance artists who are not covered by the fund and who are losing the chance to seek cultural support. Stina Dahlström, director of operations at the Cullberg Ballet, Mia Larsson, dance manager at Riksteatern and Johannes Öhman, artistic director at Dansens Hus in Stockholm, are some of those who emphasize that the scenes are dependent on the free artists.

“In the crisis it becomes extra clear how fragile the dance is in Sweden. Hopefully we can soon invite the audience to experience dance again, but then there must be artists left who can stand on and behind the stage, ”they write.

During Friday, the government presents how the culture crisis package of SEK 500 million should be distributed.
