Saitama Prefecture Continues to refrain from going out and requesting suspension of business after 7th of May, 18:44 on 3rd of May

Governor Ohno of Saitama Prefecture said, “We will shift the peak of the infection by controlling the behavior,” while the extension of the declaration of emergency will be officially decided on the 4th, and self-restraint and facilities to go out after 7th of this month. The company has indicated that it will continue to request employees to take leave.

Regarding the declaration of an emergency, Saitama Prefecture held a meeting in Saitama City with specialists such as doctors to discuss future measures such as extension of leave requests.

After the meeting, Governor Ohno said, "By continuing to suppress behavior, we will shift the peak of infection to the back so that it does not lead to medical collapse," and requested self-restraint to go out unnecessarily and to leave a facility. He showed the idea to continue as before.

He also said that there were many cases of fraud related to the new coronavirus, and he asked the prefectural police headquarters to strengthen the crackdown and also said he would like to strengthen administrative guidance regarding resale of masks and antiseptic solutions at high prices.

Furthermore, the system of staff of the prefectural office will be temporarily changed to strengthen the support system for public health centers.

Governor Ohno told reporters, "Thank you again for the cooperation of the business operators, and I ask for your continued cooperation in the future."
