The coronavirus has caused 166 additional deaths in 24 hours in France, announced this Saturday the Ministry of Health, while the number of departments in green on the deconfinement map has increased. The pressure on resuscitation services continues to decrease, with 51 fewer Covid-19 patients, but the total number of patients hospitalized in these services remains above initial capacity.

In total, 24,760 people have died in connection with the coronavirus since March 1, including 15,487 in hospitals and 9,273 in medico-social establishments, the ministry said in a press release.

More departments go green

"The summary maps for monitoring the epidemic show an important development today: hospital tensions in the Paca region are decreasing, which causes all of its departments to change from" orange "to" green "on the map summary ”, according to the press release. The new map which synthesizes two indicators (active circulation of the virus and resuscitation capacities) now includes 32 red departments (unchanged), 22 oranges (against 28 the day before) and 47 green (against 41 the day before), is- He specifies.

In the departments in green, a lesser presence of the virus will make it possible to organize a wider deconfinement. Those in orange (a provisional category) present only one of the two favorable criteria - active circulation of the virus or capacities for resuscitation.

On May 7, only two categories will remain - green and red - which will determine the level of relaxation of the restrictions implemented since March 17.
