Baosteel No. 2 blast furnace, which was completed and put into production in 1991, is undergoing the second major repair. On May 1, the reporter went to the blast furnace repair site and found that there was no residual iron, automatic robot welding, and three-dimensional reconstruction model preview. The blast furnace overhaul was full of high-tech content.

On the same day, at the Baosteel plant, the reporter saw that the relevant part of the No. 2 blast furnace had been demolished and repaired and reinstalled on the open space beside it. The technical staff of the construction unit told reporters that after the repair and reinstallation is over, these parts will be reinstalled back into the blast furnace.

It is understood that in the industry, the construction unit of Shanghai Baoye is known as the "king of blast furnaces". It has constructed almost all large-scale blast furnaces with a volume of 4000-5000 cubic meters in China.

The No. 2 blast furnace of Baosteel was completed and put into production in 1991, with a furnace capacity of 4,706 cubic meters. In 2006, it was overhauled in situ. After a generation of service, the No. 2 blast furnace adopts a modular overhaul mode without residual iron, and the construction period of the furnace shutdown is 90 days.
