Dr. Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Haddad, the chief mufteen of the Fatwa Department at the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Work in Dubai, explained that if a traveler remains stuck at the airport without knowing the date of his flight, then he may break his fast, but if he knows the date of his travel, he is in the ruling of the resident and thus he must fast.
