Foreign agricultural investment in agricultural countries is a good thing, and a step that was necessary and urgent, but it is not the safest alternative to ensuring our food security, and it will not have the character of continuity in providing our basic food needs in times of crisis.

Corona taught us that.

The problems associated with the spread of the virus have caused countries to lock their doors, so there is no import or export, no airports or ports, so food will not reach us even if it is our exclusive property!

Corona is not alone that constitutes a threat to the idea of external investment in the agricultural sector. Most of the countries that are capable of agricultural investment in it are unstable countries, and some of them suffer semi-permanent changes in their political systems, which means a permanent risk in maintaining these investments, because their continuation of Whether or not, it depends on the form and type of the existing political system, and the people of the economy realize that there is no economic investment in politically troubled countries!

Hence, there is no safe alternative to investment within the state in the agricultural sector, and the related sectors, such as both agricultural and animal production, and the canning industry sector as well, especially with the enormous potential of the state, which enables it to excel in these areas.

The climate is no longer a real impediment to agriculture in the Emirates, because the farms have become covered with air-conditioned plastic houses, we have been able to grow various types of fruits and vegetables throughout the year, and the technologies for cooling the farms have become available in various forms, and have contributed to multiplying production twice as much as we expected.

We have become producers, and in commercial quantities, of fruits that no one imagined growing here, such as strawberries and figs, in addition to the emergence of a feature of good control of water use for agriculture, which is amazingly amazing, as the waste of water in some areas decreased by more than 60%, Some of them have reached 90%.

Several useful technologies have emerged, such as hydroponic, aerobonic, and aquaponic!

The Emirates are capable of being satisfied, even giving, and this is a realistic fact, not just a wish, as the infrastructure here is complete and distinctive, and has no similarity anywhere in the world.

While many agricultural countries lack an appropriate infrastructure, we have here in the state roads, means of transportation, marketing channels, and everything that would make any agricultural project succeed, and we also have energy sources, and if farmers had government support in this area, the matter would be changed remarkably And great!

This is also the case in the presence of technologies and mechanization, such as plows and agricultural equipment, which clearly contribute to reducing labor. These capabilities, and many others, are available in the Emirates, and we only need to raise the slogan "together to be satisfied", with the planning and support of the government, and the efficiency and mission of citizens Specialists and farm owners!

Government planning and support is the factor that will make the difference, and through it, pressure on expenditures must be found to find initiatives, and offer products devoted to agricultural financing. These financing products are able to make a qualitative shift that bears the agricultural sector to advanced stages, yet we have not heard about it, and we have not seen it on an agenda Any national bank so far, what we are seeing is a complete focus on personal products and real estate financing only.

As a result of the banks ’lack of interest, or the lack of experience of their employees in this type of financing, almost any request for an agricultural loan project, or related to agricultural products, is rejected as it is highly risky, whereas,“ Corona ”we know that the real risk is to move away from The agricultural sector, mainly relying on imports for food products!
