The Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has announced this Tuesday, April 28, that cinemas, theaters, auditoriums and similar spaces may reopen during phase 2 of the Executive's de-escalation plan due to the coronavirus crisis, and it will be done with a pre-assigned seat and capacity limitation of one third. Phase two is not expected to start until the end of May and, according to the de-escalation plan, each province will enter it according to its evolution in the face of the pandemic.

As Sánchez has detailed, this phase 2 will be the intermediate one within the exit plan and will be reached "if the indicated conditions and markers are met." In the case of leisure and culture, included in the aforementioned phase, in addition to cinemas and theaters, it has also referred to other sectors.

Thus, in this phase, visits to monuments and other cultural facilities such as exhibition and conference rooms will be possible , with a third of its usual capacity.

Cultural acts and shows of less than 50 people can also be held indoors, with a third capacity, and if it is outdoors they will be possible when less than 400 people gather, as long as they are seated.

Each phase will have an average period of two weeks and on Monday, May 11, all the provinces that meet the panel's requirements will go to phase 1. From there, biweekly compliance with markers will be evaluated, as Sánchez explained. .
