  • Born in Rennes, the association Les P'tits Doudous launched an online kitty to help the nursing staff.
  • The money collected should enable them to finance the purchase of daybeds, thermos or office equipment to improve their daily lives.
  • The president of the association also raises a cry of alarm, demanding that the caregivers be consulted and heard in the future on the transformations of the hospital.

Born at the CHU in Rennes in 2010, the association Les P'tits Doudous continues its solidarity actions. She made herself known by distributing stuffed animals to comfort the hospitalized children. Then there was the video game "The hero is you!" »Developed to help young patients reach the operating theater without fear. Driven by the energy of its president Nolwenn Febvre, honored in early 2018 at the Elysée Palace, the association has woven its web and is now present in 75 hospitals with 700 volunteer caregivers.

In the midst of a coronavirus pandemic, which strongly impacts its activities with the youngest, Les P'tits Doudous are flying at the bedside of nursing staff to help them cope with the "health war". Since the end of March, the association has launched an online kitty to unlock funds in order to "improve the concrete daily lives of our caregivers". To date, more than 92,000 euros have already been raised to finance the purchase of daybeds, thermos, tables or office equipment.

"Caregivers have solutions to transform the hospital"

Nolwenn Febvre, a nurse-anesthetist, also takes advantage of this call for generosity to raise an alarm cry and alert the authorities. “Should we rely on the generosity of the general public and the voluntary commitment of caregivers to save the hospital? "She wondered, saying that" carers are too rarely taken into account in the hospital's transformation plans ". “Even if the applause is good, once the crisis is over, they must have decent working conditions. We want to be consulted, and heard, to renovate the hospital, "said the president of Les P'tits Doudous in a press release.

She also hands a pole to the Ministry of Health, demanding that her association be "recognized as an experiment". "We have considerably improved the care pathway for children who have undergone surgery and have reduced costs for healthcare establishments," she says. We will be able to find other solutions to transform the hospital, with all the players in the field and the institutions. ”
