Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced that one doctor was newly confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus at "Tokyo Metropolitan Komagome Hospital" and "Tokyo Metropolitan Sumito Hospital" in Sumida Ward, respectively. It was also revealed that one hospitalized patient at the Sumito Hospital, whose infection had been confirmed so far, died.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, newly confirmed infections were male doctors in their twenties at “Toritsu Komagome Hospital” and female doctors in their twenties at “Tokyo Metropolitan Sumito Hospital” at designated medical institutions for infectious diseases.

Of these, the male doctor at Komagome Hospital was not able to treat patients with the new coronavirus, which means that there is a high possibility of community-acquired infection.

No symptoms of suspected infection were seen in the patients or staff who had contact with this doctor, and the hospital is determined to continue regular medical care for both outpatients and hospitalizations.

Only two people were confirmed infected at Komagome Hospital.

On the other hand, female doctors at Sumito Hospital are likely to have nosocomial infections.

Infection was confirmed in 43 people at the Indo Hospital.

It was also revealed that one hospitalized patient, who had been confirmed to have been infected, had died, and only two people related to the Indo Hospital died.

Due to the spread of infections, hospitals have stopped accepting new patients at the critical care center in addition to accepting new hospitalizations and outpatients, but are discussing with the public health center etc. to resume it.
