Chiba Prefecture revealed that 17 of the people who died in the prefecture so far from being infected with the new coronavirus were residents of two elderly care facilities with outbreaks.

According to this, in Akiyama-no-Sato, 13 of the 29 residents confirmed to have been infected have died so far.

Of these, 11 died in the facility and 2 died after being transported to a medical institution, all in their 70s or older.

Currently, 12 people are still staying on-site and receiving treatment, and some are coordinating hospitalization.

On the other hand, in "Yuyu Ichikawa," out of 16 residents confirmed to have been infected, 4 men and women in their 80s or older died in the facility.

It means that many people originally have basic diseases such as cardiovascular system.

Chiba Prefecture says, "I want to call for thorough measures to prevent the spread of infections at these facilities any more."
