The problems of globalization and the challenges it poses to modern society have recently become particularly acute in the light of the pandemic. And if most of the people and political elites, in particular, have become preoccupied with the fight against globalization only now - in fact, under the threat of death from the coronavirus - then for young republics, such as the DPR, the discussion and development of ways to counter this is relevant from the first days of its foundation.

Even before the pandemic raged around the globe, Donetsk decided to hold a large-scale congress of anti-globalists this spring.

Preparations for this event were actually in a semi-secret atmosphere - there are too many factors that could physically hinder the realization of the idea. In particular, Ukraine could initiate various kinds of obstacles in advance - through its allies in the United States and the European Union - for the arrival of leaders of various anti-globalist movements and organizations in the DPR. So, the media leaked information about the intentions to go to Donetsk of representatives of the Irish party, which continues to support the policy of the IRA, as well as California separatists.

Due to the fact that the borders due to a pandemic in many countries are now under lock and key, according to the WarGonzo military agency, they decided to hold the international conference of antiglobalists online, but Donetsk was still the organizer of the dialogue.

The first stage of negotiations was held last week. According to information received from sources close to the leadership of the DPR, representatives of at least six anti-globalist organizations, including the United National Antiwar Coalition, an American social movement opposing military policy and US interference in the affairs of the Middle East, have already taken part in the online meeting. Latin America, Eastern Europe. The African continent and the Irish were also represented, there were also speakers from other European countries, in particular Finland. In addition, Catalans and Puerto Ricans will join the online conference this week.

Their common goal is to consolidate efforts in the fight against the so-called new world order, actively propagated by representatives of global financial and political elites as a whole, and to counteract financial sanctions, under the influence of which today a good half of the globe resides.

Exclusively for RT, we were able to get a comment from Joe Lombardo, a UNAC spokesman, who spoke about the position of this American anti-globalist organization, outlined at an online meeting organized by the DPR authorities. In particular, Lombardo said: “The forces ruling in the United States of America have been too keen on maintaining a dominant role in world politics, while they are not at all striving to make America great again. The great thing is that the country takes care of its citizens. The spirit of the army is falling, US citizens are not provided with normal medicine, which today can not effectively resist the coronavirus pandemic. But at the same time, the United States has an aggressive policy in the international arena. Military maneuvers on the border with the Russian Federation, wars around the world. But this aggression is by no means aimed at protecting its own citizens. ”

More detailed comments on the basis of international online negotiations, the center of which was Donetsk, are likely to appear in the near future, when the participants at the end of this conference will develop a common strategy to deal with new challenges that globalization brings. However, today we can say with confidence - contrary to skeptical assessments of the activities of the DPR in the international arena, Donetsk is quite successfully trying to find its own place in international politics and, most importantly, finds it one way or another.

One can have a different attitude to the actions of anti-globalists around the world, but underestimating their influence on today's agenda would be simply stupid. It is all the more surprising that it is Donetsk, becoming one of the youngest fighters with the global world, that is gradually turning into the capital of world anti-globalism. Yes, let it be online so far. But as soon as the borders are finally opened at the end of the pandemic, the DPR will start organizing offline meetings with ideological allies from around the world.

In my opinion, this is a good chance to create an alternative platform for various European institutions to create new political trends and strategies that can not only affect the international information agenda, but also change the attitude of political elites to what is happening in the Donbass and in other regions that are defending their independence from world hegemons.
