Tokyo Metropolitan Governor Koike requested the Keizai Doyukai to encourage member companies to take 12 consecutive days off in line with the "Stay Home Week" beginning on the 25th.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is planning to encourage residents and businesses to stay at home during the "Stay Home Week" from the 25th to the 6th consecutive holidays.
In response to this, Governor Koike had a video conference with Keizai Sakurada, the secretary general of the Keizai Doyukai, on the 24th, saying, "The long holiday season is an important time. I want you to take the lead to have 12 consecutive holidays tomorrow." And asked for cooperation. In response, Mr. Sakurada responded, “I strongly support the purpose of Stay Home Week. I would like to strongly encourage member companies to take consecutive holidays.”
In addition, Governor Koike asked for further promotion of telework in order to curb attendance, but Representative Sakurada said, "In particular, information and communication companies and foreign-affiliated companies are making significant progress. I think there are differences and ways of allocating work, so I would like to use this as a reference, "he said.
