Director Baz Luhrmann - Armando Gallo / Zuma / Starface

Baz Luhrmann took advantage of the confinement to record a new piece, entitled Sunscreen , with the (indirect) help of the Queen of England. For this remix of the title Everbody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen) , released in 1998, the director sampled extracts from the recent speech of the monarch who addressed the British people.

Touched by the Queen's speech, the filmmaker took extracts from it that he set to music and mixed with We'll Meet Again , interpreted by Vera Lynn. His musical team assisted him via Zoom, the video conference software that became essential during this period of confinement.

Baz Luhrmann hopes that his project will bring a little joy in a complicated moment for a large part of humanity. The director of Moulin Rouge himself spent several weeks in quarantine after being in contact with Tom Hanks during the filming of the biopic of Elvis Presley, on which they were working when the actor tested positive for coronavirus.
