Breton fishing is taking a hit. Sounded by the coronavirus epidemic, the industry is trying to organize itself so as not to endanger itself. Deprived of consumers during the first days of confinement, fishermen gradually returned to sea to supply the distribution channels that were still open. If the restaurants and collective catering remain closed, the large retailers continue to buy them fish. In an interview with 20 Minutes , the boss of La Scapêche, the leading French shipowner, spoke of "a resumption of activity".

But fishermen lacked a tool to publicize the points of sale of their seafood. This Friday, the Regional Committee for Marine Fisheries and Marine Breedings of Brittany (CRPMEM) therefore launched the site allolamer.bzh, a platform listing the points of sale, the contact details of the professionals and their opening hours. This site must create "a proximity link but also a link with seafarers, to have geolocalized access", explains Olivier Le Nezet, president of CRPMEM. Around sixty companies are listed on this site. However, it is not possible to order online.

Mareyeur in Brest (Finistère) and vice-president of Breizhmer, Jean-René Cadalen mentions a "very sharp drop in sales", in particular because of the consequences of the epidemic in restaurants and large retailers. "I make 10 to 15% of my normal turnover," he said. In Brittany, professionals in fresh seafood represent nearly 21,000 jobs, according to the Observatory of the Maritime Economy.
