The executive multiplies the meetings on the strategy of deconfinement, which should take place from May 11 in France. After the meeting between Emmanuel Macron and the mayors, Edouard Philippe met this Thursday afternoon by videoconference with the regional presidents. Friday morning, he must replace the representatives of the departments.

The Prime Minister's meeting with the regions takes place from Strasbourg, where Edouard Philippe is visiting the University Hospital to take stock of the progress of the coronavirus epidemic. He was to discuss "the essential questions of equipping French people with masks for the general public, the screening strategy and the reopening of high schools, managed by the regions," argues Matignon.

Economic support and loss of revenue

Receiving the mayors Thursday morning, Emmanuel Macron ruled out any regionalization of the deconfinement which is to begin on May 11. This unlocking must however be "adapted to the territories", said the Elysee.

The meeting around the Prime Minister should also make it possible to "take stock of the support mechanisms for economic activity", while the regions abound to the tune of 500 million euros the solidarity fund of 7 billion euros put in place by the government towards businesses.

Friday at 11 am, the Prime Minister will hold a videoconference with the representatives of the Association of French Departments (ADF). Three points are on the agenda, we learned from the ADF: "crisis management by the departments", "preparing for deconfinement" with the subject of recovery in colleges, and financial matters, in particular related to the loss of tax revenue and the parallel increase in social aid which is the responsibility of the departments.
