On April 20, the Chengde City Fire Command Center received an alarm saying that someone was trapped in a deep well under the viaduct in Xiaodonggou Village, Shuangfengsi Town, Shuangqiao District, Chengde City. Fire rescue personnel arrived at the scene and observed and asked insiders that the trapped person was a middle-aged man about 40 years old. When working underground at a depth of 4.5 meters, the trapped person was loosened due to loose soil around the well wall. The whole body was buried in the soil.
Due to the small space and limited operation, firefighters can only use their hands to carefully dig out the mud around the head of the trapped person, and use a long hose to access the trapped person's mouth to ensure that the trapped person can breathe normally . After several rounds of round-trip operations, the upper body of the trapped person gradually got rid of the trap, but the lower body of the trapped person was firmly pressed by the mud in the 80 cm diameter cement pipe and could not move. Fire rescue personnel can only continue to dig out the soil in the cement pipe with bare hands. Eventually, after nearly three hours of intensive work, the firefighters dug out nearly two cubic meters of overburden with bare hands.
