The Department of Health will issue a quarantine order to all passengers arriving at the airport in accordance with relevant regulations, and relevant departments will arrange for them to wear electronic bracelets. According to the quarantine order, these people cannot leave the hotel room or move around in the hotel, otherwise they will be considered as a violation of the mandatory quarantine order and constitute a criminal offense.
Waiting for the test results center to set up basic security services to ensure that these people are safe and will not leave the hotel without permission. The hotel provides basic meals during the stay.
The person concerned will usually stay in the hotel for one night. After the test result is negative the next day, if the result is negative, they will be allowed to leave the hotel and immediately return to their home or continue to complete the 14-day mandatory quarantine at the designated location. The diagnosed and close contacts will be sent directly to the hospital and designated quarantine center, respectively. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department will thoroughly clean and disinfect the room where the diagnosed person stays.
The SAR Government emphasized that none of the persons concerned had any symptoms when they left the temporary sample collection center. Before confirming that the test result is negative, all people arriving in Hong Kong will be arranged to take a special car to check in directly at the hotel. This arrangement will not bring additional risks to the community where the hotel is located.
Since the SAR government has mandated that all people arriving at the airport to be quarantined, many hotels have offered 14-day accommodation packages for quarantine. The risk of people waiting for the test result center in the Department of Health is no higher than that of people who are generally subjected to 14-day mandatory quarantine in other hotels.
