[Explanation] Following the two new genera of Modaoxi Three Gorges Dragon and Pu'an Yunyang Dragon, the dinosaur fauna in Yunyang County of Chongqing has recently discovered a new dinosaur species-Puxian Emeilong. Among them, "Pu Xian" is a species name and belongs to the genus Emeilong.

The Emei dragon found in this study is a dinosaur individual with a preservation integrity of about 40% unearthed in the Shaximiao Formation of Yunyang in 2017. The fossil specimens found include vertebrae, forelimbs, and hindlimbs preserved in some joints, as well as separate Saved clavicle, ribs and other materials.

After a detailed comparison study by researchers, it was found that the unearthed fossils are clearly different from the 7 species of Emeilong known today, and have their own unique characteristics. For example, all the anterior vertebrae are concave, and the central cervical spine has complex gas. Cavity structure, the anterior caudal vertebral nerve spinal end expands backward, the humeral deltoid crest points to the posterolateral side, and the ratio of ulna to humerus is 0.69.

After the restoration and installation, Puxian Emeilong is an adult large herbivorous dinosaur with a body length of about 16 meters. When standing, its head can reach more than 8 meters above the ground.

The discovery of a new species of Emeilong in Yunyang, Chongqing, represents the expansion of the distribution of Emeilong and enriches a group of Emeilong. It is of great significance for studying the individual evolution, development and migration of Emeilong.

[Commentary] At the beginning of 2015, people in Pu'an Township, Yunyang County, Chongqing reported the discovery of suspected dinosaur fossils. Later, after being identified by the National Paleontological Fossil Expert Committee, the dinosaur fossil group discovered in Pu'an Township, Yunyang County, Chongqing was a world-class dinosaur fossil group. The identified fossil outcrops have a length of 18.2 kilometers and a distribution range of about 54 square kilometers. The time spans from early to late Middle Jurassic.
