Siri Berg was born in Stockholm in 1921 and moved to New York at the age of 19. She worked in the fashion industry and for a long time taught color theory at Parsons school of design. From the 1970s she started to focus entirely on art and she had her first solo exhibition in 1970.

Her art can be found in the permanent collections at the Moderna museet in Stockholm and at the Guggenheim museum in New York. In 2018, her art was presented in the exhibition Life in Color at Bonnier's Art Hall in Stockholm.

A rune in the New York Times describes how she combined paint and canvas with an almost scientific approach to color, light and texture.

Siri Berg's artistry is depicted in the documentary In color by Sara Jegeman.
