On April 13, local time, in the restoration laboratory of the newly built Great Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Giza, southwest suburbs of Cairo, Egypt, archaeologists restored the golden coffin of Pharaoh Tutankhamun. It is reported that Tutankhamun's golden coffin was removed from the pyramid in mid-July 2019. In August, Egyptian Minister of Cultural Relics Khalid Anani announced that it would begin the first restoration after the excavation of the golden coffin. At that time, the restoration period was estimated to be about 8 months. After the restoration is completed, it will be exhibited in the Great Egyptian Museum along with other objects of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
