Facebook has launched a new feature called Quiet Mode for Android and iOS that allows users to mute all notifications in their application on mobile devices.

Facebook had started testing the new feature last month, and now it has announced its official launch, as it will be available to iOS users within the following weeks, and then to Android users starting next May.

What is Facebook quiet mode and how does it work?
When Quiet Mode is activated, the application interface will disappear behind the full screen notification to remind you to run the setting and view the amount of time remaining until Quiet Mode ends. Although Facebook already provides the ability to mute notifications from the application, the "quiet mode" differs in that it allows setting a time period to mute notifications.

And if you want to disable this feature, you can click on the "Manage Quiet Mode" button, to go to your settings and disable the feature at any time, and this feature does not allow you to disable it directly, but you must go through several steps to restore the application's normal mode.

Quiet Mode silences most, but not all, Facebook notifications. According to a Facebook post, the company is legally required to allow certain notifications to appear, such as regarding changes to the privacy policy or account security. But notifications for new posts, messaging responses, and other schedule interactions will disappear completely while this mode is active.

This applies to notifications sent by your Android phone or iOS, as well as those in the Facebook application itself, and you will still be able to follow what is happening in your account as it will appear in the notification tab. However, if you decide to check your friends ’interactions, you will not receive any alerts about them while you are in Quiet Mode.

How to enable quiet mode in Facebook
You can turn on quiet mode in the Facebook application through the following steps:

- Click the main menu tab.
Scroll down to the "Settings and Privacy" option and click on it.
- Click on “Manage Your Time” option.

Here you will see two options:

1- Quiet Mode: Allows you to block all notifications.
2- The option “Scheduled Quiet Mode”, which allows you to specify the times and days during which you want to block notifications.

When you activate “quiet mode”, a reminder will appear for you every time the application opens. Also in the message, you will find the time remaining until the end of the specified time period to stop notifications.

Other options to mute Facebook notifications
For those who do not have a "quiet mode" yet, but need a practical way to hide notifications coming from the Facebook app, they can use other options such as the "Mute Notifications" option on Facebook, which allows you to get rid of Facebook notifications until You stopped it.

You can also use Do Not Disturb, or Airplane Mode, to pause notifications, and you can turn off these modes anytime you want.
