British actor Tim Brook Taylor, a member of the comic trio "The Goodies", died of infection with the emerging corona virus.

Brook-Taylor was part of Cambridge University's Foollight, which has been a breeding ground for several generations of comedy talent in Britain.

The artist, who died at the age of 79, broke into radio and television in the 1960s alongside Graham Chapman and John Cleese.

Together with Graeme Garden and Bill Audi, he formed the "The Goddess", which specialized in surreal sketches that included comics and songs. In 1975 their song "Funky Gibbon" topped the list of the 10 most popular songs in the UK.

The television program, which continued to broadcast until the 1970s, gained wide fame in Britain, Australia and New Zealand, and was able to attract followers in many countries.

The Goodies was part of the golden age of British television comedy during the 1960s and 1970s.

For more than 40 years, Brock-Taylor was also a member of the BBC's "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" contest committee.

As of Sunday evening, there were 85,175 cases of Covid-19 infection and 10,629 deaths, according to the Johns Hopkins University website on the global epidemic.
