Asked in Culture Médias about Europe 1, Arthur returned to the conditions for the realization of "The Show must go home", an online program that the host of "Friday is allowed" launched the day after the start of confinement. A real success, since TF1 will broadcast the best moments of the show during the night from Friday to Saturday.

INTERVIEW

The day after the official establishment of containment, Arthur launched a daily web, "The Show must go home", from his kitchen. "We don't know what we're going to do or how we're going to do it, but we're going to do it," he said at his premiere. The audience quickly got carried away, to the point that TF1 will broadcast the best moments of the show on the night of Friday to Saturday. "We went on an adventure and each day the program got formatted", says the host, who returns to the microphone of Europe 1 on the construction of "The Show must go on" ... and announces that 'a new concept is in preparation for next week.

"We want to make people laugh"

"The great thing is that it's live," says Arthur, who admits that he hasn't done it on television for a long time. But who says direct and containment also says some technical problems. "We are very dependent on the number of people who connect at the same time. The more there are, the more the quality (of the image, editor's note ) is rotten, but that's what people like", he smiles .

Because in these "anxiety-provoking" times of containment, public support is very strong. "I get more messages on this show every day than I get on TV shows where I had five million viewers," says Arthur. "People need to laugh (...) We are not in prison when we are in confinement. Freedom is in the head and we want to make them laugh and make them laugh". "If we get there for an hour and we have 700,000 people laughing with us, we are very happy."

"We are going back to celebrities for the first time"

The format is very simple, but remains more elaborate than a simple videoconference or a simple live video, synths and messages can scroll on the screen. "We have improved from the start," said the flagship host of "Friday, anything goes."

However, there is "no pretension" to do as on TV. "We're in the live, we're in people's homes (...) That's what's interesting: we're going back to celebrities for the first time. They are playing with us and there is a real exchange", explains Arthur .

"We want to have fun," he sums up.
