It is one of the most popular electronic music gatherings in Europe. Due to the epidemic of Covid-19, the Electrobeach festival, which takes place every year on the beach of Barcarès, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, has been canceled, the organizers announced, in a statement published on social networks.
The next edition will take place in July 2021.
An "extremely painful" decision
"The current health crisis due to Covid-19 and the uncertainty of the weeks to come about the coronavirus epidemic lead us to make the extremely painful decision to postpone the 2020 edition to July 2021, indicate the organizers of the event. It is our responsibility not to take any risk as regards the health of our festival-goers, our artists and our teams (…) We do not want to expose the populations of the territory (…) to a possible propagation of the coronavirus within the framework of '' a gathering of tens of thousands of festival-goers from different backgrounds. "
The tickets purchased for this year will be valid for the 2021 edition. The festival, which has been taking place since 2009 at the foot of the Lydia, a sandy liner, welcomed 165,000 people in 2019. It welcomed the biggest names in electro : Joachim Garraud, Bob Sinclar, Martin Solveig, DJ Snake or David Guetta.
