Following the “Declaration of Emergency” issued in seven prefectures, including Tokyo, based on the Special Measures Law on Countermeasures against the New Coronavirus, Governor Fukuda of Tochigi Prefecture has no urgent need to communicate with the target area. Up to now, 26 new coronavirus infections have been identified in Tochigi Prefecture, doubling in the past week.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Governor Fukuda of Tochigi Prefecture said that "Tochigi Prefecture is deeply connected with the area covered by the emergency declaration and economically, and is concerned about the further increase in infected people in the prefecture."

He also urged the citizens of the prefecture to refrain from unnecessary and urgent traffic to and from seven prefectures in Tokyo and neighboring Saitama, where the declaration of emergency was issued.

Governor Fukuda also called for avoiding the so-called “three dense” of hermeticity, crowding, and closeness, and not purchasing more food and daily necessities than necessary.

He further stated that he had requested to refrain from going out of the prefecture and said, "If the number of infected people rises dramatically today, we will have to take a look."

On the other hand, Governor Fukuda stated that he would like to proceed promptly while listening to the intentions of the Hotel Ryokan Association, etc., regarding facilities that accept mildly ill patients to avoid medical collapse when the number of infected people increases. Was.
