The human toll of the coronavirus continues to climb, in Occitania as elsewhere, even if the region remains much less affected than the Grand-Est or the Ile-de-France. On Wednesday evening, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) reported that 14 people had died of Covid-19 in the previous 24 hours in a hospital, for a total of 195 dead. This number does not include deaths in nursing homes or those at home.

[#Coronavirus] The figures for # Occitanie remind us of the importance of respecting containment measures: 1009 people are currently hospitalized in #Occitanie (328 in intensive care) and 195 died in hospital.

However, the news is better on the hospital front, which fell for the second day in a row: it concerned 1,009 people Wednesday, 35 less than Tuesday and 56 less than Monday.

328 people were in intensive care on Wednesday, six fewer than the day before. The jump is clearer in terms of home returns, with 1,010 Wednesday against 933 Tuesday.

In detail, the Hérault remains the department of Occitanie which pays the heaviest tribute to the coronavirus with, to speak only of the dead in hospital, 60 victims, in front of the Aude (34), the Haute-Garonne and Gard (21). On Wednesday evening, Lozère was the only department without Covid-19 deaths registered in a hospital establishment.
