JR East and West Japan April 8 17:54 to prevent transmission of Shinkansen trains

JR East and West Japan have decided to suspend in-vehicle sales of Shinkansen trains, etc. from the 9th to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.

According to JR East and West Japan, from September 9 to the end of next month, all in-vehicle sales services on Tohoku, Yamagata, Akita, Joetsu, Hokuriku and Sanyo Shinkansen will be discontinued.

It also means that sales of “Grand Class” seats, which are more advanced than green cars installed on the Tohoku / Hokkaido Shinkansen and Hokuriku Shinkansen, will be forgotten.

On the other hand, the Tokaido Shinkansen will continue to be sold inside the car, and the Hokkaido Shinkansen and the Kyushu Shinkansen have already been sold inside the car last March.

JR East and West Japan are considering in-vehicle services from June onward, considering the spread of new coronavirus infections, and are urging them to check the website for the latest information.
