Tokyo Olympic torch to be discontinued at Fukushima New Coronavirus April 7 20:26

The Tokyo Organizing Committee has decided to discontinue the Tokyo Olympics torch on display in Fukushima Prefecture after the 8th due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

The torch of the Tokyo Olympics arrived from Greece last month, and since the torch relay has been suspended due to the effect of the new coronavirus, the torch will be kept in Japan until the torch relay is held again, and will be kept on.

The Organizing Committee decided to open this torch to the public at the J Village, a soccer facility in Fukushima Prefecture, which was the starting point of the torch relay, from 2nd to 30th of this month. Due to the effects of the new coronavirus, such as the increasing number and declaration of emergencies in seven prefectures, we decided to cancel the exhibition from the 8th.

The torch will be managed by the Organizing Committee, and it is not yet known how to display the torch.
