Children on a desert island invented democracy with a chair. Whoever climbs on it becomes king, and each one takes turns until the day when a shipwrecked person decides to stay on the chair, thus establishing dictatorship!

The Swiss play Thomas Miauton was written as part of the 10 x 10 residency organized by Drameducation. Like every last Thursday of the month, a part of this program can be heard on RFI.

Residence 10 out of 10 : Ten authors are locked up for ten days to write a ten-page play for ten characters. These texts are then used by classes around the world to teach students French.

The performers are all third year students of the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art (CNSAD), under the direction of Armel Roussel: Alexandre Manbon, Lisa Toromanian, Ahmed Hammadi Chassin, Nadine Moret, Virgil Leclaire, Logann Antuofermo and Clémentine Aussourd.

You can also listen to this piece on the RFI Savoirs site, in its binaural sound, which is the equivalent of 3D sound, thanks to the precious help of RFI Labo and Guillaume Ploquin, director. You have to listen with headphones, and it's an experience, you'll be in the middle of the stage!

On RFI Savoirs.
