With the approaching month of Ramadan approaching, and questions increasing about fasting in light of the threats of the emerging Corona virus, the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa settled the controversy over the ruling on fasting the holy month in the event that doctors saw the necessity of keeping the mouth of the fasting person wet during the day, as a preventive measure against infection with the virus that causes For "Covid 19".

The Center stated in a fatwa published on its official page on Facebook yesterday: “If the matter is premature, it is not permissible for a Muslim to break the fast in Ramadan unless doctors decide and it is scientifically proven that fasting will make him vulnerable to infection and death by the Coronavirus, something that has not been scientifically proven until this moment".
