In Mulhouse, a "warehouse, hitherto without activity" will receive part of the coffins of the deceased from the Haut-Rhin department "in conditions which guarantee respect and dignity", announced the prefecture. "The effects of this epidemic are felt throughout the funeral chain and require an increase in reception capacity in mortuary and funeral rooms," he said.

The department hardest hit

This departmental place, managed by the city of Mulhouse, is intended to accommodate coffins while awaiting burial or cremation ceremonies. Its activity should begin this Tuesday, according to the prefecture.

With 470 deaths in hospital (on Sunday) and 303 in nursing homes (on Monday) since the start of the epidemic, the Haut-Rhin has the heaviest results in the Grand-Est.
