Publicity

We especially knew Alain Ayroles and Juanjo Guarnido for their successful series which depict anthropomorphic animals: the cat of Blacksad, or the wolf, the fox and the rabbit of the series De cape et de crocs. But it is in a completely different register that the two accomplices have arranged to meet their respective followers. This time they deliver a comic book album that looks like a large and baroque play. A colorful tragedy, an epic and hectic intrigue, with comical and burlesque scenes, a narration full of twists and turns, a tale of drawers with changes of narrators, whose words full of subtle and ferocious humor, ricochet off ultra characters expressive which move in imposing decorations. Les Indes fourbes signed Alain Ayroles and Juanjo Guarnido is published by Editions Delcourt.

Aline Schulman is a translator. In 2010, for the Fayard editions, she translated the picaresque novel La vie du truand Don Pablos de Ségovie, an exemplary vagabond and model of crooks by Francisco de Quevedo . The comic strip by Alain Ayroles and Juanjo Guarnido imagines the continuation of this jubilant novel.
