The balance sheet is getting heavier. The number of residents of the Mougins nursing home near Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes) who died of coronavirus rose over the weekend to 31, a spokesperson for the establishment said on Monday. The previous assessment communicated Friday by the private group Korian, which manages this establishment where 109 elderly people reside, had recorded 29 deaths since March 20.

Staff screening results show that 14 of the 50 staff at this nursing home are positive for Covid-19. "We have started to do what is necessary on the spot to replace the personnel tested positive, who no longer comes to the site, by calling on the health reserve," said the spokesman.

"The screening of the other residents must begin [this] Monday," he adds, explaining that sanitary measures have been taken, in particular by establishing two "waterproof parts" in the nursing home.
