Bangladesh officials have announced restrictions on worshipers who number more than 250,000 mosques across the country, in light of the high numbers of people infected with the Corona virus.

"More than five people will not be allowed to perform daily prayers," the Ministry of Religious Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry added that only ten people will be allowed to perform the Friday prayer, which usually attracts larger numbers, asking citizens to perform the prayers at home.

On the social media, many citizens questioned why Bangladesh, which has a population of more than 160 million people and more than 90% of them Muslims, continued to allow prayers in large groups, while many other Muslim countries banned prayer in Mosques due to corona virus. It is noteworthy that Bangladesh recorded 123 cases of coronavirus, including 12 deaths.
