Frédéric de Vincelles, director general of programs in charge of digital platforms for the M6 ​​group, confirms this at the microphone of Europe 1.

TV works very well in this period of confinement, but it is not only the linear programs that make the audience. If the French currently consume television one hour more per day than the usual averages, the replay platforms of channels, such as MyTF1, france.tv, arte.tv, MyCanal and 6Play, also benefit from a strong increase in their audiences . Europe 1 contacted Frédéric de Vincelles, the director general of programs in charge of digital platforms and sport for M6, to give us an overview of the good performance of 6Play, the group's platform.

The platforms are a hit, the computer as a second television

"We find this increase in TV media on 6Play, the catch-up platform. It is increasing by more than 30% so we are breaking all our records! To give an idea, in a usual day of 6play, we makes about 3.5 million videos viewed per day. At the moment, we are actually doing 5, or even for our record 6 million videos viewed over a day, "says Frédéric de Vincelles.

Another consequence of confinement is the increase in platform traffic for live channels. "As the television in the living room is already on, busy, people go to the 6play platform to watch W9 for example live," said the director general of programs in charge of digital platforms.

One can indeed imagine that the choice of channels is a little more complicated than usual between members of the same family ... Result: "we see an increase in the consumption of live channels, whose share explodes: it increases by more than 40%. The platform, on tablet or computer, acts as a second television ", estimates Frédéric de Vincelles.

"Full of series"

These scores on digital therefore follow the good trend of this good old television. Thanks, among other things, to a rapid adaptation to the crisis period we are going through. "We are very happy with what we have achieved. The teams have done a remarkable job. We very quickly knew how to be agile and rethink the platform to adapt it to this period, by putting ourselves at the service of viewers-internet users" , says Frédéric de Vincelles.
