Authorities will launch a "large-scale screening operation" for Covid-19 infections in nursing homes, said Minister of Health Olivier Véran on Monday. With systematic tests from the first case now.
This operation "will allow positive cases to be grouped within dedicated sectors within nursing homes to avoid contamination by other residents," said the minister. According to the latest report, at least 2,417 deaths have been recorded since the start of the epidemic in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments.
