It has been confirmed that a staff member of the Shinjuku Pension Office in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo has been infected with the new coronavirus, and the office has been closed since March 3 for disinfection.

The infection with the new coronavirus was confirmed by a male employee in his 60s working at the Shinjuku Pension Office in Okubo, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.

According to the Japan Pension Service, the employee complained of physical illness before going to work on the morning of March 31, and a virus test confirmed the infection on the morning of March 3.

For this reason, the Shinjuku pension office was closed before noon on the 3rd, and disinfection work is being carried out.

The staff members are in charge of the Employees' Pension Service, and PMDA has instructed employees who may have had close contact to stay at home.

This is the first time that pension offices across the country have been confirmed infected by staff and the office has been closed.

According to the Japan Pension Service, "Once we have received confirmation from the public health center that we have performed the necessary disinfection work, we want to open it. We are informing customers about the schedule for reservation consultation and using the nearby pension office." .
