A local hospital informed a resident of a small city in the Northern Republic of Macedonia that his mother had died, so he organized an funeral for her, and contacted the priest and the family before it became apparent that this had not happened, according to TV 24.

Blagojevich Donchev said he had received a call from the government hospital in Koçhani in the east of the country informing him that his 58-year-old mother, who was suffering from serious health problems, had died without the cause being the emerging coronavirus.

He immediately commenced the funeral arrangements connected to the burial company and the character and obituary paper that was affixed to the small northern Macedonian cities on streetlights.

But when he came to the hospital to take the body of his mother, the administration informed him that she was still alive.

"When we went to receive a body, we were told that they could not find it," he told the TV station. Then they informed us that she was still alive. "This has caused incredible psychological pressure."

In a statement, the hospital said that it had not yet determined the cause of the error, adding that the authorities had opened an investigation into the case.

The statement indicated that the patient was revived after she was put in a very dangerous condition to the hospital last Monday, and she is still undergoing treatment.
