2200 pieces of cloth masks donated to elementary and junior high schools before the new semester Muroran sewing company April 3 18:15

As the shortage of masks became severe due to the new coronavirus, a sewing company in Muroran, Hokkaido, gave the city more than 2,000 cloth masks before the new semester of elementary and junior high school began.

Muroran Sewing, a manufacturer of men's clothing, gave the cloth mask to Muroran City.

On the 3rd, Mayor Aoyama of Muroran City and the principal of an elementary and junior high school visited the company and received more than 2,200 masks from President Seishi Yamakawa in two different sizes.

In anticipation of the severe shortage of masks due to the new coronavirus, the company procured cotton gauze from around mid-February and started manufacturing masks.

In Muroran City, a new school term for elementary and junior high schools will begin next week, so we will distribute masks donated to each school.

Mayor Aoyama was thankful that "this will allow children to enter the new semester with peace of mind."

President Yamakawa, who gave the mask, said, "I wanted to help prevent infection. I want children to wear masks and be careful not to let people pass on."
