Toñi SalazaR, singer of Azúcar Moreno, has announced in an interview in Semana magazine that his brother Juan Salazar, a member of Los Chunguitos, is hospitalized after contracting coronavirus. "The scare has been tremendous, we have no direct contact with him or the medical team, so all we know is through my niece," says Toñi.

"It seems to be fine , but of course, we do not know much more. It is tremendous. Not having information distresses you any more. It is very complicated," explains Salazar's sister. "If you are at home and locked up but knowing that all of yours are fine, then nothing happens, but knowing that a relative of yours is in the hospital and you have no contact with him because it is twice as much concern."

Los Chunguitos is the group in which four male brothers of the Salazar family, originally from Badajoz, have sung. It was discovered in 1976 by the Dynamic Duo, in a concert and, since then, has released 29 albums and 11 compilations. Its very early success popularized a style of its own that mixes gypsy rumba and melodic song.

In the past decade, Juan has become a frequent figure on entertainment television shows and in coraxon magazines. .
