Playing sports, entertaining the children, concentrating, meditating… So many activities that can be done with music, and whose interest has suddenly increased since confinement. It is for this reason that Apple Music has decided to launch from Friday, April 3, "All together, at home", a dedicated space where subscribers will find playlists adapted to their needs of the moment.

Among the new playlists available, we find "Mission Telework", with Drake, Kanye West and Roddy Ricch to give themselves "motivation", "Pop Cuddles", to "hold on and change your ideas", or even " Home Studieux ”, presented as“ the ideal background for review sessions ”.

"Music gives us the means to escape and share good times with those we love during this phase of social isolation," argues Apple Music.

Reduced listening

Apple Music is not the only streaming site to have imagined a special musical space "containment": Deezer launched on March 25 "We stay at home" .YouTube Music created dedicated sections "Stay at home #With Me" - musical playlists - and “Make Music #With Me” - video tutorials to learn how to make music.

Music streaming sites have seen a drop in viewing since the start of containment. Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music lost "between 10 and 15% of listenings during the week of March 16" in France, according to the site Les Jours.

In a press release, the online music platform Spotify said it had seen an increase in playlists "on the theme of cooking and household chores". Information podcasts are attracting growing interest, such as music and podcasts for children who are out of school, "especially music to help them fall asleep," the group noted. Note the surge in the title Don't stand so close to me ("Do not stay so close to me" in French) of almost 135% in recent weeks.
