The virus is still circulating there "intensely" but the Pays-de-la-Loire region is not experiencing a sudden increase in cases "for the moment". This is in summary what the Regional Health Agency has observed in recent days, about the epidemic of coronavirus on the territory. Tuesday evening, in its daily report, it revealed that the number of patients had exceeded 900 (against 852 the day before). The ARS also announced that a total of 71 people had died (average age: 82) from the aftermath of Covid 19. That is 13 more than on Monday.

A figure still low compared to other regions, but which is however truncated. While the government has recently indicated that it would communicate on the number of deaths occurring in medico-social establishments, in addition to those recorded at the hospital, these data are still very vague locally. "Since Saturday, eight deaths have occurred in nursing homes in the region," says director Jean-Jacques Coiplet, who calls to take these figures with tweezers. The ARS has promised that these data will be consolidated by Thursday.

“Stable” state for patients from the Grand Est

On Tuesday, 132 people, whose average age is 65, were in an intensive care unit. "Each day, we have 10, 15 or 20 more patients," observes Jean-Jacques Coiplet. This is an important indicator which makes us say that the curve is less than that of other regions. However, you have to keep anticipating to prepare for the worst. Among these patients are still the twenty people who came from the Grand Est by medical TGV last Thursday. "Their state of health is stable but needs to be kept in intensive care," says the director of the ARS.
